Wild Camping Night Challenge– 3 days backpacking and wild camping skills course in Dartmoor National Park.
In this day and age, we are all looking for some way to escape busy city centres, overcrowded campsites and find inner peace! Wild Camping courses were carefully designed to make your Wild Camping experience as easy and as accessible as possible.
You will hone new wild camping skills, gain confidence and be able to replicate the wild camping experience with friends and family!
We only ask you to be mindful of your surrounding, respect nature and follow the Leave No Trace rules at all times. when wild camping.
Our mission is to show you how we can all enjoy the wilderness, keeping our impact to an absolute minimum and be able to come back to beautiful and wild locations many times in the future!
Authentic wild camping skills experience that will help to kickstart your wild camping and backpacking adventures.
Day 1:
Meeting in the evening on Friday for the Wild Camping Night Challenge– 3 days backpacking and wild camping skills course in Dartmoor National Park.
Arrive in Ivybridge for a meet and greet around 10pm. The exact location will be advised closer to the trip’s start date.
We will check the kit to make sure that we have not forgotten anything, especially torches!
Once everyone is happy with their kit we will start our walk up towards the moors. We will aim to start the walk around 11pm.
We need to assume that the walk will take around 2 – 4 hours to get to our camping spot for the night.
During the walk, there will be plenty of spots to replenish water or have a rest.
We will pitch tents or tarps and enjoy the short ‘evening’ to get up early and Leave No Trace.
Day 2:
The second Wild Camping Night Challenge day will start early so we won’t disturb anyone with tents. We will pack and head out for a few hours walk until we will reach the lunch break spot.
During the walk, there will be plenty of spots to replenish water or have a rest with spectacular views and have some rest.
After lunch we will proceed to the second wild camping spot for the night. We will have a few option depending on the group’s fitness and weather conditions.
In the evening we will pitch tents or tarps cook and enjoy the relaxed evening.
Day 3:
The day will again start early so we won’t disturb anyone with tents. We will pack and head out for a few hours walk until we will reach the lunch break spot.
After lunch, we will head back to the starting point. This time downhill!
We will aim to be back around 4pm
